Innovation in university teaching is considered one of the vital issues and main pillars of
developing university learning and teaching and activating communication amongst faculty
members of all disciplines at all Saudi universities. Therefore, the idea of organizing an
International Forum of Innovators in University Teaching (Real Experiences of Excellence in
Teaching) has emerged.
Since Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) recognizes its duty to develop
university learning and teaching as a means to fulfilling its mission of achieving excellence in
university teaching, the University Vice Presidency for Studies, Development and Academic
Accreditation, represented by the Deanship for Development of University Education, has sought to hold this forum. An approval by the Minister of Higher Education had been issued to hold the forum in Riyadh at the university campus during the period of 22 - 24 / 3 / 1434
AH corresponding to 3-5 / 2 / 2013 . The forum coincides with the recognition given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques,
King Abdullah Ibn Abdul-Aziz, and his Crown Prince, Nayef Ibn Abdul-Aziz to the development of education, particularly university and higher education. It is under the supervision of his
Excellency the Minister of Higher Education Professor Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Anqari, and the continual support of the University President Professor Sulaiman bin Abdullah Abalkhail whose efforts are endless in developing the educational process and elevating the university to the highest standards.
This forum aspires to disseminate experiences of creative university teaching and its methods of development, and contribute to providing real teaching experiences as a step towards the promotion of innovation and excellence in university learning and teaching.
The forum also strives to create appropriate means to ensure the transfer and exchange of excellent teaching experiences and practices among all interested in applying modern and effective methods of university learning and teaching to all universities in and outside Saudi Arabia. A number of faculty members of theoretical, scientific, and practical disciplines at public and private universities worldwide with excellent experiences in learning and teaching will participate in this forum.
