The Senior Lecturer in Computing Science will be seen as a leading academic demonstrating discipline expertise and leadership. The appointee will coordinate and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise postgraduate students in his/her area of expertise. He/she will also contribute to internal and external research groups and consultancies.
The position is in Computing Science will be in the School of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment.
Qualifications:
Senior Lecturer – PhD and either formal tertiary teaching qualifications and significant teaching experience or global expertise in the discipline.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
· Software Engineering, Net Centric Computing, Database Management Systems
· Project management and project management systems
· Extensive teaching experience including distance and flexible education modes
· Experience in supervising post graduate University students
· Experience working and teaching in a multi cultural environment
· Strong original research background and ability to lead research and consultancies.
· Substantial publication record in international refereed journals is required.
Applicants should demonstrate expertise in Computing Science through appropriate research publications. Appropriate practical experience within the industry would be an advantage. Experience working and teaching in a multi-cultural environment is also desirable.
Contract Term:
The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range:
Senior Lecturer:
F$81,145 to F$93,629 pa (Inclusive of 15% Gratuity). In addition, the University contributes 10% of base salary to an approved superannuation scheme, and provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
